We have collected 6 beers that we think will make your Easter lunch absolutely perfect.
They have been carefully selected to compliment different types of open sandwiches, which we believe belong on the Easter table.
Brandy is always a good addition, but not required. Try to find a brandy that doesn't overpower the beers.
The package includes:
1 welcome beer
1 beer for fish fillet
1 beer for eggs and shrimp
1 beer for tartar
1 beer for the cheese (plus a packet of rye biscuits, baked with beer from Møn)
1 after lunch beer
Welcome beer
(Add a small bowl of salty chips.)
Beer: Vinohradsky Pivovar – Vinohradska 12 (Pilsner) 50 cl. - 4.8%
(Start your lunch off in the best possible way, with perhaps the best Czech pilsner there is. Malted, hopped and balanced just the right way. This beer is a pure delight.)
Fish fillet
(Breaded fish fillet, remoulade, lemon, cucumber, chervil, rye bread, butter)
Beer: Saison Dupont (Saison) 33 cl. - 6.5%
(This Belgian classic is a spring beer in the best sense of the word. It is suitably spicy and slightly acidic. It goes perfectly with the fish.
Eggs and Shrimp
(Hard-boiled egg, shrimp, rockfish roe, mayonnaise, rye bread, butter)
Beer: Uneticky Pivovar – Masopustni Bock 16 (Bock) 50 cl. - 6%
(A bock is perfect for the Easter table. There is a good malty base in the bock, but at the same time it also has an easy drinkability like a lager. This Czech variant has enough body to stand up to the massive umami attack that the egg dish brings. Umani and salt from the eggs, mayo and roe and sweetness from the shrimp. It's a great match.
Tatar
(Freshly chopped beef thigh, raw egg yolk, capers, horseradish, red onion, rye bread, butter)
Beer: BrygBrygBryg – Norwegian Nights (Brown Ale) 33 cl. - 5.7 %
(Danske BrygBrygBryg has made a super easy-drinking brown ale that just goes hand in hand with a good tartar dish. Not too many frills, this one just works. The dark malty sweetness is just a good match with beef. Both roasted – and raw.)
East
(Blue cheese or good Western European cheese and Møn rye biscuits)
Beer: BrewBrewBrew – Sailors Bouquet (Barley Wine) 44 cl. - 9%
(Barley Wine and a good fat blue cheese are a classic match, and when you taste it you understand why. There is a balance between the two that is absolutely perfect. If one party seems too much, the other party tones it down. If you are not into blue cheese, a good strong West Sea cheese will do too. Or why not try them both? The Barley Wine from BBB is strong enough to stand up to both the cheese and the lovely crispy rye crackers. There is a bitterness at the end of the beer, which with the salt from the cheese and the sweetness from the crackers, gets a nice soft rounding.)
After lunch beer:
Beer: Other Half – DDH Small Galaxy Everything (IPA) – 47 cl. - 6.5%
(Now you should sit down in the soft, pat your stomach, and relax. Plus a super balanced and very pleasant New England IPA from the American Other Half. Creamy and delicious. This one butters your palate with just the right amount of hops, and both the aroma and taste lead you towards tropical skies.)
Welcome!
